We are very excited to announce that our database: Cambridge, MA: Wyeth Funeral Service Records, 1904-1964 is now complete. This database now contains all funeral home account records in the collection, spanning from 1904 through 1964. The complete database contains more than 17,400 records and 45,000 names.
Searchable fields include names of the deceased; dates and locations of birth, death, funeral service and interment; names of parents and spouses. Other information available in the images includes occupation, cemetery, and age at death.
The Wyeth Funeral Service began when Benjamin Franklin Wyeth (1846-1909) became an undertaker in 1860; he joined with Henry A. Wyeth in 1895, eventually buying out the business in 1904. His sons continued the family business after his death in 1909, renaming the business name to Wyeth Funeral Service. The funeral home remained in business until 1964.
The original volumes are kept in the R. Stanton Avery Special Collections at NEHGS, call number Mss 223.
